Health Information Systems, eHealth and Telemedicine

Overview

The emergence of digitalization with ICT-based tools has changed health care permanently. Health information systems allow real-time access to the health history of the patient and his/her personal health data, but also offers possibility to unlimited access to data regardless of place and time. It is therefore essential that health professionals have a appropriate knowledge of the health information systems, including telemedicine, eHealth, mHealth and connected health.

The course is suitable for anyone, who is interested in achieving a basic understanding of e-health, telemedicine and patient record systems in the present healthcare delivery system. The course also gives additional knowledge to those already working in healthcare and is also targeted to those coming from industry and other areas of society interested in collaboration with digital health environments.

Methodology

The methodology will be online. Interactivity takes place in virtual learning environment. The course consists of videotaped lectures, power point presentations and links to other material available in the web. Performance of duties includes written tasks, participating in moderated discussions on the grounds of the lectures, design task, and exam. The contents may be adjusted based on national priorities.
