Health Enabling Technologies (HETs) contribute to a person’s health by monitoring his or her health status and quality of life. This guest lecture deals with different scenarios in which HETs are used and describes which sensors are suited to measure vital signs and biosignals. In specific, the integration of sensors into private spaces like a car (“smart car”) and a home (“smart home”) are shown. In addition, the lecture covers wearable devices that allow a continuous monitoring. It gives an overview over data types and classifies the data acquired from HETs.
