University-Industry Educational Centre in Advanced Biomedical and Medical Informatics
Electronic patient records (EPR), or in a broader perspective electronic health records (EHR), are the backbone of digital health services. This presentation discusses the basic need of information at the point of care, the functional components of a EPR/EHR system and some most used standards. It also presents a case example, an advanced Finnish EMR system “ESKO” and the patients as producer of their own information.
